Imagine starting with 5 days in Rome with the time to admire the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the most iconic piece of art in the world, playing golf in the morning and leaving the mid afternoon and evening free to sample all the best aspects of Italian lifestyle.
Courses to be played include the most exclusive clubs in Italy such as Olgiata, Parco di Roma and Acquasanta, the oldest golf course in Italy, built in 1903.
Following Rome we will go to Castelfalfi for 4 days, staying in the heart of Tuscany in a truly spectacular resort. Castelfalfi is a small, 800 year old Medieval village which has been beautifully restructured making it an enchanting and evocative place offering time to relax, a great cuisine and a prestigious golf course.
The finale is 5 days of golf around another beautiful venue, Lake Garda. We will be staying in the 5 star Palace Hotel Villa Cortine in Sirmione where you can relax and enjoy the never ending view of the most beautiful lake in Italy and where you can walk around romantic places like Verona, Sirmione and Desenzano that offer everything day and night!
Tom was National Coach of Italy many years ago and his contacts in the Italian Golf World are formidable. The current crop of Italian players on the world tour are being coached by Tom’s former pupils and they still ask for advice.
Golf in Italy is normally very exclusive and always first class. There will be matches against the members at some of the golf clubs and an introduction to slices of Italian life not normally seen by the tourist. For golfers or seasoned tourists this sounds like a trip not to be missed. Non golfers are most welcome. From previous experience we have maximized the amount of golf available but it is not compulsory to play every day and there will be obvious opportunities to shop or sightsee as you wish.
